Parent/Child Tutorial (10-12 yrs), $185 – No Prerequisite

Nature is a harsh mistress, and the wilds of North America are no exception. Whether carving out civilization as a pioneer or trekking through a frozen wasteland, men, women and children alike have proven that resilience against the elements, isolation, and unexpected hardships are key to survival. It takes a unique kind of person to travel into the unknown, leaving home and family behind, and to make a real life there. The stories in which these individuals emerge victorious are among some of the most inspiring because of their perseverance, courage and friendship. Students in this course will travel through the joys and trials of these brave souls, discussing all that it takes to not only survive in the wilderness, but thrive.

We recommend that parents review these works ahead of time to ensure they are a good fit for their children. Not all courses may be well-suited for each family, particularly when children are in a younger age range. We rely on parent discretion to determine whether or not a course will serve their child well.
