Want the full ballroom experience? Register for both workshops together and enjoy the best of both worlds. You will learn the basics—such as the waltz, rumba, foxtrot, and jive—while also strengthening your skills and adding new steps along the way. Instructors Mike and Michele Barter guide students through the fundamentals and then help them progress to additional dances, including the cha-cha and samba.
These workshops reinforce ballroom etiquette and the life skills that grow from practicing courtesy. Students and parents alike benefit from training in social graces, as well as the opportunity to spend time with other homeschooling families.
By registering for both events together, you secure your place in the full program and enjoy a seamless progression from introductory to more advanced dances. Generations of homeschoolers have learned with Mike and Michele—and now you can too.
This is not a drop-off program. Students must be accompanied by an adult to participate.
Open to non-WISDOM families; WISDOM families receive priority registration.

Two day combo: $158
Day 1 (June 16th)
This full day class is a great intro to emergency wilderness survival and bushcraft. The day will start with constructing emergency shelters using no tools and only natural materials. After lunch we will focus on the art of Firecraft and practice lighting and building our own fire suited for warmth. The day will end with making bushcraft torches that will first cover knife safety and proper use before getting into creating your own bushcraft torch using all natural materials that can be used for light, moving fire, and emergency signalling.
Day 2 (June 17th)
This full day class is geared to those who are interested in building on previous skills or those who are interested in a more wild and authentic wilderness skills experience. Participants will be constructing long term shelters, complete with a raised bed and firewall that can be used in all seasons. This will be followed by a workshop on how to start fires in wet and cold conditions using a variety of methods. The day will end with a look at foraging and wild medicines that support in both a wilderness living and emergency survival setting. Please note that this class will include some heavy lifting and sawing. It is open to all ages (5-18) however younger kids may need some support from parents.
